Susie Agoston Honoured as 2025 Mosman Citizen of the Year

On Tuesday, 1 April 2026, Co-Presidents Halyna Koscharsky and Ruth Thompson, alongside members of the Rotary Club of Mosman, attended a special session of Mosman Council led by Mosman Mayor Ann Marie Kimber, to formally congratulate Susie Agoston on being named the 2025 Mosman Citizen of The Year.

The occasion was marked by a Mayoral Minute at the council meeting held in Mosman Council Chambers, celebrating Susie’s decades-long contribution to the community. Her award was first announced on 26 January during Australia Day celebrations at Mosman Drill Hall, where a citizenship ceremony also took place.

Susie is the founder and CEO of ONELAND ARTS SPORT EDUCATION ENVIRONMENT, a not-for-profit organisation based in Mosman, dedicated to building connections between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. Since the early 1990s, Susie has worked tirelessly from Mosman to realise her vision: Two Cultures, One Dream, Oneland. The charity delivers programs supporting children in remote communities through sport, education, and the arts, relying entirely on philanthropic donations, community support, and volunteers.

ONELAND also promotes reconciliation and Indigenous social justice by fostering cultural understanding. It is a proud member of the Indigenous Art Code, ensuring fair trade practices for Indigenous artists whose works have featured in exhibitions from Mosman Art Gallery to Munich, Germany. Most recently, cultural artworks by Gamilaraay children were exhibited at Mosman Library in 2024.

Cultural events led by ONELAND have taken place in remote communities including Brewarrina, Goodooga, Lightning Ridge, and East Arnhem Land, as well as locally in Mosman, involving Elders, traditional dancers, musicians, artists, and community leaders.

ONELAND also runs sports programs helping Aboriginal schoolchildren from remote regions gain access to representative state and national sporting opportunities.

The Rotary Club of Mosman is proud to support Susie’s work through the annual Goodwill Truck initiative. At least once a year, Rotary members collaborate with Susie to collect and send essential items such as bikes, sporting gear, musical instruments, baby car seats, bike helmets and more to remote communities.  Susie coordinates the collection point, the volunteer driver, and the team to pack and deliver the items.

The next Goodwill Truck is scheduled for Sunday, 4 May.
