The Mosman Youth Art Prize was founded in 1988 by renowned local artist Ken Done. The prize offers young people a rare opportunity to exhibit their work in a public gallery, generating a showcase of emerging young talent.
It has supported the early careers of many successful artists such as Natasha Walsh, Alex Seton, Remy Faint and Laura Jones. This year the works were judged by the contemporary artist Ramesh Mario Nithiyendran.
Each year hundreds of budding artists submit their drawings, paintings, photographs, videos, prints, sculpture and ceramics, in Junior, Senior and Tertiary categories.
Mosman Rotary is one of the prize donors, supporting the next generation of artists. Shirley Beaumont Owles presented the prize on our behalf. She was impressed by the amazing work on show. With nearly 400 entries and 200 exhibitors, there was standing room only for the Opening Ceremony.
