Our major fundraiser for the last 2 years has been the design, production and sale of a jigsaw featuring Mosman.
The idea of a double sided jigsaw was the inspiration of PP Mark Alderson. After some discussion the then President, Richard Vahtrick gathered together a committee of new members aided and abetted by PP Dieter Beck and PP Graeme Robinson. Although roles were fluid the design fell mainly to Graeme and Vann Daglan, liaison with the NZ based manufacturer to James Humphrey and sales to Ross and Therese Webb. In the design process the Local Studies Centre of Mosman Library were extremely helpful in searching for and then providing historic photos of Mosman.

Covid led to a high demand for the manufacture of jigsaw puzzles so despite getting our design finished and ordered in October 2020 it was not until around April 2021 that our 1500 puzzles were delivered. James, Vann, Ross and Therese as well as many other members of our club immediately started selling online, through Mosman markets and the Mosman Newsagency. In 2021 we sold approx 1020 followed by approx 200 in 2022. Currently sales are much slower but Ross and Therese are still pursuing sales at every opportunity.
A great project. Not only has it been an excellent fundraiser but also has been an opportunity for all members and in particular a group of new members too participate. And this was a real Mosman Community project under the lead of Mosman Rotary but with great support from people and organisations such as: Mosman Council, Mosman Camera Club, Mosman Local Studies Centre, and Anthony Coleman at Mosman Newsagency, as well as other local businesses.
