MUSICAL SOIREE IN AID OF THE VIETNAM HAND TEAM

After the resounding success of the Soiree last year we decided to run another. Bookings were slow to start with but soon picked up and by the night we had over 80 attendees. The night featured music from Louise Johnson – Harpist, Janet Webb – Flautist and Nathaniel Kong – Pianist. Food and drinks were served before the start and during the interval. Drs Scougall, Prosser and Ryan from the hand team gave presentations before the interval.

During the night we collected donations towards the cost of travel and equipment the team took with them and gifted to seminar participants. Approx $3500 was raised which together with the surplus from ticket sales resulted in a total raised of approx $8000.

The night was the brainchild of PP Barry and was organized by PP Di and her committee of Halyna, Ruth, Dom, Derek and Mark. President James was kept busy serving drinks with help from Helen and Shirley when James had to leave due to illness. And last but not least thanks to Di, Jocelyn, Vera, Ruth and Halyna for the food. Many club members and our 2 exchange students, Marko and Kazshiu, circulated with the food.

Truly a Night To Remember!
