Dennis is a member of Kenthurst Rotary Club and a volunteer at Shine for Kids. “Some seven years ago, a local friend from Annangrove RFS and I became alarmed at the plight of women and children becoming homeless, so we decided to try and do something about it. Homelessness has become a pandemic and domestic violence seems out of control, with some 110,000 women in NSW over 45 at risk of becoming homeless. The fastest growing cohort of homeless people are women over 55.
The urgency to do something about this pandemic is such that the way forward is by community driven projects such as The Hills Transitional Housing Project. Obviously, political decision making has fallen way short of the mark, so this presentation to Mosman Rotary is a part of a call to arms.”
