On the program this year, 40% of students are from non-English speaking backgrounds, 16% identify as First Nations Australians, 10% have experienced out-of-home care, 9% have experienced domestic violence, 6% have a disability and 5% have told us they experience mental health concerns
Class of 2022
HMEF is very proud of our Class of 2022
Welcome to 2023
HMEF Hits 1000 Scholarships!
At the Harding Miller Education Foundation (HMEF) we are very excited about this year and everything that we have planned for our scholars and supporters.
We are proud to announce that in 2023, the Foundation will award our 1,000th scholarship since starting in 2016. This is an amazing achievement and it is because of you, our wonderful supporters, that this has been possible.
In 2023 we will have 613 girls on our program from Years 9-12, this includes 199 new scholarships for girls entering Year 9 in 2023.
In 2023 we have introduced a brand new type of scholarship for 40 students who will receive a “gold scholarship”. These gold scholarships are additional scholarships beyond our current model and have been introduced to ensure that an extra 40 extremely talented and dedicated students – who would have otherwise missed out – will receive a Harding Miller Education scholarship. In Years 9 and 10, the gold scholarship recipients will have access to all of the tools and resources of the scholarship with the exception of tutoring. Access to tutoring will be available to them in their important senior years of high school.
Of the 199 girls receiving a new scholarship in 2023, 38% come from a non-English speaking background, 35% are from regional or rural Australia, 24% have experienced domestic violence, 13% are first nations girls, 9% are from a refugee background and 6% have been in or are in foster care.
Our Program Team are currently collating the girls’ commencement surveys and distributing scholarship information packs and tools. We are looking forward to working with our newest group of scholars!
A big Thank You to the Rotary Club of Mosman for your continuous support
