Now that the Changeover Dinner has been postponed to 28th July we will have an informal get together on ground floor of Hotel Mosman. A table for 10 has been reserved for 12.30.

And don’t forget June’s special event with Mike Munro

|
Due to failing numbers, enhanced by Changeover being four weeks early with a consequence that many members will be away and with a minimum requirement at Northbridge Golf Club, we have decided to postpone our Changeover Dinner set for Fri 2nd June and move the date to Friday July 28th, 2023.
|
Our apology for any inconvenience this may incur.
|
To those who have paid, Treasurer David will arrange for return of the payment to your account.
|
Next Monday 29th May: Given the Changeover postponement there will be no official meeting but only an impromptu friendly gathering for those who wish to attend.
|
Added is that with Changeover now being Friday 28th July, there will not be a Mosman Rotary meeting that week on Monday 24th, July.

NSW INSPIRATIONAL WOMEN’S AWARDS 2023
NOMINATIONS ARE NOW OPEN
The Rotary Inspirational Women’s Awards were launched on 26 April 2022 on board the Windeward-Bound Youth Development Sail Training Vessel in Sydney Harbour.
The NSW Awards are an initiative of the combined efforts of a group of passionate Women Rotarians in the Greater Sydney and Illawarra Clubs, in keeping with Rotary’s motto of ’Service Above Self’. The purpose of the Awards is to acknowledge and celebrate community service performed by women through their vocations, selfless gifts of their skills, and their time in various activities and endeavours. The Awards recognise the work done by women, the “quiet achievers”, whose actions inspire others and make a real difference in their communities.
While individual organisations have specific internal awards, RIWA recognises service to the community across all sectors in each of the geographic areas of NSW. It recognises the NSW general community and is about commitment, dedication, perseverance, and proactivity in improving the lives of others.
The Awards are open to all women above the age of 18 across NSW and members of the public are encouraged to submit online nominations at: https://riwa.awardsplatform.com
The Hon Jodie Harrison MP, Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault said:
“The 2023 Inspirational Women’s Awards shine a light on the incredible contributions of the quiet achievers in our communities.
I strongly encourage the public to nominate a woman who is working to improve the lives of others whilst looking for no recognition themselves.
Every day across NSW, women are uplifting our communities, from supporting local sporting organisations, to health and social services and educational endeavours. The Awards are one way we can show women that we value their time, efforts and commitment to helping our communities thrive..”

The Awards are divided into three categories: Urban, Rural and Health. These are further divided into:
1. Young Inspirational Woman of the Year – 18-30 years of age
2. Inspirational Woman of the Year - 30+ years of age
3. Inspirational Health Worker – 18-30 years of age and 30+ years of age
4. A total of 24 finalists will be recognised.
Everyone knows at least one woman, irrespective of age and vocation, who excels by volunteering quietly, giving of her time to make a real difference to the lives of others. These women inspire others and are real role models.
A panel of independent judges, from Rotary across NSW, will assess nominees on their community service which best exemplifies Rotary’s motto of Service Above Self, achievements, and personal attributes.
Nominations close on 16 June 2023 and finalists will be announced on 26 July 2023. The winners will be announced at an Awards ceremony to be held in Sydney on 10 September 2023.
Rotary brings together a global network of volunteer leaders dedicated to tackling the world’s most pressing humanitarian challenges. Rotary connects 1.4 million members of more than 46,000 Rotary clubs in over 200 countries and geographic areas. Their work improves lives at both the local and international levels, from helping those in need in their own communities to working toward a polio-free world.

Find out about the importance of a Voice to Parliament, how you can play a role in ensuring it is established and why reconciliation requires action from everyone. The workshop is free but registration is essential.
