Clean Up Australia Day 2024

PP Clare is looking for volunteers to help out:

As I have from the beginning, I’m supervising a Clean Up Australia Day event.

I only supervise one event these days.

It will be at Rosherville Reserve and Chinaman’s Beach.

In 2019, Gladys Berejiklian came and Founder Ian Kiernan’s 2 daughters as Ian had recently passed away.

Also, Ken Done as he usually does because he lives nearby.

I’m not sure who will be coming this year but hopefully Mosman Mayor Carolyn Corrigan will be able to attend.

My Event No. is 42965 and people can sign up on the Clean Up Australia website or just show up on the day.

It will be from 10 am – 12 noon on Sunday, March 3.

Clare Stockdale

This is a photo of Gladys helping with my Clean Up in 2019! Also Sally Kiernan and Pip Kiernan.

Ken Done came as well. So I’ve been supervising Clean Up Australia for 35 years!

Monday’s Speaker - Janine Wood – Mary’s House Services

Janine Wood will be updating us on Mary’s House and accepting payment of part proceeds of the Xmas Raffle - $4500.

Regionalisation

The Rotary Regionalisation Project rolls on with the inaugural meetings convened separately for each Rotary Community Group to discuss several issues including:
  • What do you wish to work on together?
  • How will you work together?
  • When and how often will you meet? F2F or by Zoom?
  • Who might nominate for the Rotary Community Leader (RCL) of your RCG. Nominations will be called for soon.
Our club has been allocated to RCG 9685-2:

Chatswood International
Chatswood Roseville
Crows Nest
Eastwood Gladesville
Hunters Hill
Lane Cove
Macquarie Park
Mosman
Northbridge
North Ryde
North Sydney Sunrise
Ryde

President James together with PEs Ruth and Halyna will be attending the establishment meeting for 9685-2 on Thursday 29th February. The meeting is outlined as follows:

The meeting will allow you both to:
  1. Get to know leaders of the other clubs in your RCG
  2. Look at how RCGs and the regionalisation model will work
  3. Consider what clubs in your RCG can work on together
  4. Look at what sort of support would assist your club
  5. Consider the style of leadership and characteristics your Rotary Community Leader might need
  6. Consider also a name or your RCG!
Before the meeting, think about the strengths of your club, including those you could share with some or all your RCG clubs. And think about any weaknesses which may be assisted by ideas shared by some of those same RCG clubs.

WE can all look forward to a briefing on the results of the meeting.

On Monday we welcomed a new member to our club - John Gessler. After the induction John gave a presentation of his life and connection with Rotary as a past exchange student. John concluded by referring to the Four Way Test and how he had used each aspect during his career.
